CCMC Admission Policy

Chester County, Pennsylvania public high school students shall be screened and admitted to the Chester County Middle College High School (CCMCHS) based on the following weighted admission
criteria:
Weight Criteria
20 points Demonstration of potential for college level work through completion of essay and short answers on application form
20 points

Previous teacher/counselor perception

  • Characteristics of potential (10 points)
  • Manifestation of ‘at-risk’ behaviors (10 points)
10 points Attendance record
10 points Discipline record
10 points Academic achievement record
30 points Interview of potential student conducted by CCMCHS principal and/or staff


In keeping with the intended philosophy of meeting the needs of at-risk youth, attendance, discipline
and academic achievement will be carefully evaluated and weighted during the admission's process
so that appropriate students are not excluded.

The Chester County Middle College High School will not discriminate in accepting students, based
upon gender, race, creed, religion, ethnic background, limited English speaking ability, or handicap,
where such individuals have a reasonable chance of succeeding in a college environment and where
no undue risks to their health, safety or welfare exists.
